Ash and co. are in a big city. They are in an elevator riding up to the top of a building. On their way up, Pikachu sees two Pichus playing around. One of the Pichus stares at Pikachu and sticks out its tongue. Pikachu stares back, but the Pichu has vanished. When they reach the top of the building, all of the Pokémon are released. Ash tells the Pokémon that they have to do some errands. He points to a clock tower, and he tells them that they will be back by 6:00pm. With their trainers gone, the Pokémon can do whatever they want except get in trouble.
Pikachu pops out of the bushes. It sees Pichu again on the other side. The younger brother gives Pikachu some funny faces. The older brother tells its younger brother to be careful. The younger brother is about to fall, but it regains its balance. Pikachu looks down from the top of the building. It's a long way down. A flock of Murkrow surrounds Pikachu. They start to peck at Pikachu. Pikachu falls off the pole it was standing on. Before Pikachu can fall, it quickly grabs onto a hanging rope. Meanwhile, Meowth is busy washing the windows. Meowth hears Pikachu's screams. It looks up and sees Pikachu hanging from the rope. Meowth continues to work. Murkrow holds on the end of the rope. A swarm of Hoppip appears floating around. They bump into Murkrow, and Murkrow drops the rope. Pikachu falls down, but it bounces on top of the Hoppip. When there are no more Hoppip left to bounce on, Pikachu falls on Meowth's platform. The platform shoots Meowth into the air. Pikachu climbs up the building and meets up with the Pichu. Pikachu tries to shout out to the other Pokémon, but they don't hear Pikachu's scream.
The Pichu tells Pikachu to follow them. They go through a small vent, and then they jump onto a surface. The surface happens to be an elevator, and the elevator goes down. They run through a narrow path, and then they fall down onto the top of a moving truck. Pikachu is worried as this wasn't suppose to happen. The Pichu doesn't seem to be worried at all. The truck makes a sharp turn, and the Pokémon are knocked off into the river. A boat is coming their way, and Pikachu swims as fast as it can with the Pichu to get away. A wave throws the Pokémon onto a Gyarados, who throws them into the air. Pikachu and the Pichu lands on a Houndour. Houndour is mad, and it starts to chase Pikachu and the Pichu. The Pokémon run up a clothesline to get away faster. Unfortunately, Pikachu and the Pichu comes across a gate. Behind them is Houndour. The Pichu Brother uses Thundershock on Houndour. Too bad for the Pichu, the electric shock hurts them too. Pikachu grabs onto the Pichu and jumps over the gate. Houndour does the same, and the chase starts again. Pikachu comes across a fence. It jumps onto a Snorlax. They spring up to the other side of the fence. Houndour does the same, but Snorlax moves causing Houndour to fall on the ground. Then Snorlax lays on top of Houndour.
The Pichus wake up. Pikachu lets them know that they are safe. Ahead of them is a Pokémon fort made out of tires. Many Pokémon like Smeargle and Magby pop out from the fort. Hitmontop spins Pikachu and Pichu, who lands on Shuckle, who throws them onto a slide. Then Pikachu and Pichu get thrown into the inside of the fort. The Pokémon are having a really fun time. It's almost time for Pikachu to leave. The Pokémon says goodbye to Pikachu and Pichu. Before Pikachu can get back, Houndour approaches them. Houndour is still mad, and it chases Pikachu and Pichu across the fort. Many tires are falling out of their place. These tires hold the fort together. Suddenly, lots of tires collapse to the ground. Houndour gets stuck, but Pikachu and Pichu rescues Houndour. The ropes are breaking off, and the fort starts to tilt. Houndour does its best to prevent the fort from tilting any further. Pikachu tries to prevent a rope from breaking. Pichu calls out for the other Pokémon. They come, and they all work together. The rope finally rips. Houndour places a tire between the fort and the fence to prevent the fort from falling. The Pokémon start to repair the fort. Because everyone had worked together, the fort is fixed.
Pikachu has to go now. It says goodbye to all of its friends and runs off. The Pichu Brothers comes rolling down in a tire next to Pikachu. Pikachu jumps in the tire, and they make their way to the building in which they started from. Meowth is slowly walking down the road. The tire bumps into Meowth, sending him back to his working area. Pikachu and the Pichu Brothers has finally made it to the elevator. Pikachu waves goodbye to the Pichu Brothers. Ash, Misty, and Brock walks outside. They tell all of the Pokémon to come inside. Inside are tables filled with cakes and other delicious food. The special occasion for this is that it is Ash and Pikachu's anniversary, the day when they first met. The Pokémon rushes for the food. Ash puts his cap on Pikachu's head. They watch as the fireworks go off.
