Pokemon Stadium 2 is a game for Nintendo 64. It involves the Johto Pokemon just like how Pokemon Stadium involved the Kanto Pokemon. Below are a few facts that this game has:
- 251 Pokemon
- 3D battle scenes
- New gameplay modes with new mini games
- Four player battles
- Compatible with Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver
- Data exchange through the Transfer Pak
I find Pokemon Stadium to be more exciting than Pokemon Stadium 2. I'm the type of person who likes the originals better. However, a plus about Stadium 2 is that it has more to offer. There are more mini games and better gym battles. The gym leader castle can be slightly hard, so it takes some good strategy to beat them. Make sure you choose your Pokemon carefully.
The graphics and sound remain closely the same between Stadium and Stadium 2. It is a Nintendo 64 game, so don't expect high qualitiy graphics either. I did feel the animation was good. It is better than the animation in Stadium. There is nothing wrong with the sound. Again, since it is a Nintendo 64 game, the sound is decent enough to play. The gameplay is awesome. There is lots to do in this game. You can have stadium battles, gym leader battles, mini games, and you can even battle with your friends. If that isn't enough, check out the Pokemon Academy. There are many books about Pokemon you can read in the library.
Overall, I give the game a 8/10. Why? Because there are a few aspects of the game that I didn't like. The gameplay is great, but the storyline could be better. This is just one of those games where you battle with other Pokemon. There isn't much of a plot in it like the other Gameboy video games.
