- Game Name: Pokemon Colosseum
- Developer: Genius Sonority
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Game Genre: Role Play Game
- Mode: Single Player, Multi Player
- Console: Designed for Nintendo Game Cube, Nintendo WII Compatible.
I bought this game in 2004 soon as it came out and I have played it regularly ever since. I think this is a must have for your Pokemon Game collection. Its compatible with a wide range of Games and its Graphics are splendid but the Pokemon sounds were a bit of a let down. I personally was hoping for sounds that were like the ones from the anime but unfortunately they were the same ones that had been used years before.
This game is the sequel to the Pokemon Games on the Nintendo 64 Console; Pokemon Stadium 2 was the last console game to be released before Pokemon Colosseum. I you were to compare them Pokemon Colosseum would win by a mile. Its graphics are better, the compatibility’s improved, and there are more Multiplayer options available.
Visuals:
Great new visuals that had not been used in any other Pokemon Game so far and not many Game Cube Games at all can stand up to its detailed Graphics.
Visuals Rating: 8 / 10
Audio:
The tunes are mostly new and have been mixed very well and add a good sense of suspense. My favourite is the tunes used in Locations controlled by Cipher.
Audio Rating: 7 / 10
Game Play:
This game is an improvement in the way of that it allows more freedom that n in previous Pokemon games. For example: - During your adventure you many stop off and complete in a Colosseum challenge for Money to buy things and a TM to help with your Main Adventure. Also there are two game modes; Story Mode and Battle Mode. In Story Mode you walk around the new region of Orre and defeat the evil Cipher by capturing the shadow Pokemon. Or you can have a battle in Battle mode.
Game Play Rating: 9 / 10
Lifespan:
For me this game would take a few months to finish, some people take longer and some people rush it to get to the end. Personally I do not rush it because I don’t want to spoil the game, I just want to enjoy it. I think there is enough to keep most of you busy for a good few months at least!
Lifespan Rating: 9 / 10
Originality:
This is the first game of its kind but now the last because a year later Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness was released were you return to Orre and beat Cipher again. Also in 2007 Pokemon Battle Revolution will be released.
This was the first Pokemon Console Game that is 3-D on Game Cube and I think they did a great job making it.
Originality Rating: 10 / 10
Overall Rating:
I think this Game is great and I would recommend it to all my friends who like Pokemon. I hope this Review was helpful and I hope you enjoy playing Pokemon Colosseum.
