Squirtle opens its eyes when Charmander calls for it. The Squirtle is really a boy who was turned into a Pokemon. He doesn't realize that he's a Pokemon yet. The boy is surprised to see the Charmander talk. Charmander tells Squirtle that it is also a talking Pokemon. Skeptical of Charmander's words, Squirtle walks to the pond of water and sees his reflection. The boy is shocked to see that he has taken form of a Squirtle.

The boy looks at his reflection again and sees that he really is a Squirtle. Squirtle trips over the ledge and falls into the water. He dives underneath the water and does a bit of swimming. The boy is sort of enjoying being a Pokemon. He decides to use Water Gun, but when he opens his mouth, bubbles come out. It appears that the boy doesn't have enough experience yet. He gazes at the pretty bubbles. Then Charmander and Chikorita walk towards Squirtle. Chikorita has heard from Charmander about Squirtle's story of being a human. Squirtle tells Chikorita that he really is a human, but Chikorita doesn't believe Squirtle. When Charmander asks Squirtle's opinion about their team base, Squirtle replies that he loves it. Since Squirtle doesn't know much about teams, Charmander tells him that he is a new member of their rescue team - Team Go-Getters. A mini earthquake begins to shake things up. Squirtle starts to freak out. Chikorita and Charmander remain calm. They tell Squirtle that a lot of earthquakes have appeared recently. Chikorita is surprised that Squirtle doesn't know anything about rescue teams.

So Chikorita and Charmander lead Squirtle outside. Chikorita gives Squirtle a bag of things to carry. Then they all head down to the Pelipper Pokemon Square. At the Pokemon Square Pichu is crying over the missing of his older brother, Pikachu. Whiscash tries to calm Pichu down. It tells it that Team ACT are doing their best to rescue Pikachu. Snubbull steps in and tells Whiscash that Team ACT when on another mission, so they won't be back for a while. Pikachu starts to cry again when Whiscash says that they have other teams to fill in. Suddenly, Team Go-Getters make their entrance when another team called Team Meanies arrives too. Team Meanies consists of Gengar, Ekans, and Medicham. Whiscash tells both teams that they can both rescue Pichu's older brother, Pikachu.

Chikorita runs towards a place. Charmander and Squirtle follow it wondering where Chikorita is going. Chikorita tells them that they will need to be prepared before they can rescue Pikachu. They all go to the shop ran by two Kecleon. Unfortunately, all the items that the Kecleon were selling are gone. They are all shocked by this. Squirtle asks the Kecleon who bought the items. They say that the Team Meanies did.

Chikorita comes back with a bag full of berries for their trip. Then suddenly, Team Meanies pops out from behind a tree. Gengar has Ekans eat all of their berries. Team Go-Getters are really angry and sad. Angry at Team Meanies, Squirtle fires a Bubble attack at them. Gengar counters the attack with Night Shade. The Night Shade attack is more powerful, so it destroys all the bubbles. Then Team Meanies walk off to rescue Pikachu. Chikorita sadly looks down at the bag. All that's left are two Oran berries. Charmander tries to cheer Chikorita up by saying that Oran berries can give you a boost of power.

Aunty Kangaskhan waves to Team Go-Getters. She leads them over to her shop. She tells them to take anything they want. Chikorita, Charmander, and Squirtle look on the table. They see Aunty Kangaskhan's items. The items are Corsola twigs and PechaScarves. The three Pokemon try the PechaScarves on. She also gives them the Corsola twigs. Team Go-Getters thank Aunty Kangaskhan for her generosity. Aunty Kangaskhan hopes that Team Go-Getters can rescue Pikachu and beat Team Meanies.

Team Go-Getters approaches a cave. They are a bit nervous but walk in anyways. Charmander's flame lights the way. Suddenly, they hear a faint cry coming inside the cave. Charmander sees a big rock lying on the side of the cave. It uses Metal Claw to destroy the rock. A flock of Golbat fly out of the hole. Pichu comes out of the hole crying. It bumps into Squirtle and falls down. Charmander quickly reaches into the bag and pulls out an Oran berry. Pichu eats the berry, and its strength is restored. Pichu thanks Go-Getters for their kindness. Chikorita asks Pichu if he came here to try and save its brother. Pichu says yes. Then it tells them a story about how it followed Team Meanies and was sealed in a hole by them. Squirtle announces that they will get Pikachu back first. They even let Pichu come along with them.

Team Go-Getters walk past a squad of sleeping Shroomish. Charmander tells everyone to quiet down so that they don't wake the Shroomish up. Squirtle accidently knocks into a Shroomish. The Shroomish wakes up and stirs for a bit. Charmander yells to everyone that they need to run for it. The Shroomish makes a loud shriek, and all of the other Shroomish wake up. They all spray Poisonpowder at Squirtle and the other Pokemon. They all try to avoid the Poisonpowder attack. Then the Shroomish run after Squirtle. Charmander steps up and fires an Ember near the Shroomish. This scares the Shroomish off. Squirtle assumes that they must've all gone up a level since the Poisonpowder had no effect on them. Chikorita tells Squirtle that none of them went up a level, but the PechaScarves protected them.

The cave comes to a close, and they all walk outside. Pichu jumps off of Chikorita's back. It finds a treasure bag that Pikachu had before. Suddenly, a Skarmory flies above them. It dives down and grabs Pichu. Skarmory flies to the highest point of the mountain. Chikorita, Charmander, and Squirtle run up the mountain to get Pichu back. The Skarmory ties Pichu up in a vine next to its brother, Pikachu. Pichu is happy to see its brother again. It tells Pikachu that Team Go-Getters will be saving them. Meanwhile, Team Go-Getters slowly walk up the mountain. They are really hot and tired. Squirtle imagines himself using Water Gun to get to the top of the mountain faster. He tries to use Water Gun again, but only Bubbles come out.

On the side of the road lies Team Meanies. Ekans tells Team Go-Getters that Skarmory had beaten them up, and that they didn't even have a chance to win. Squirtle takes an Oran berry out of their bag, and they break it into three equal pieces. Chikorita gives one piece to Medicham. Medicham quickly heals. Charmander gives one piece to Ekans. Ekans thanks Charmander. Gengar, being more stubborn, doesn't want the Oran berry. Squirtle wants Gengar to take the berry because they don't want to leave Gengar injured. Gengar finally accepts the berry from Squirtle.

Skarmory walks back and forth guarding Pichu and Pikachu. Team Go-Getters finds Pichu and Pikachu. They introduce themselves to Skarmory. Since Skarmory doesn't like them, it attacks Team Go-Getters. Skarmory tackles Charmander. Chikorita uses Razor Leaf, but Skarmory blows the leaves away with Gust. Then Skarmory charges down on Chikorita with Steel Wing. Squirtle tries to damage Skarmory with a Bubble attack, but Squirtle ends up being pecked with Fury Attack. Chikorita, Charmander, and Squirtle think of a plan. Squirtle reaches into the bag and pulls out the Corsola twigs that Aunty Kangaskhan gave them. There are three twigs, one for each of them.

Skarmory comes diving on them again. Charmander uses Flamethrower, but Skarmory dodges it. Then Chikorita throws the twig at Skarmory, who barely dodges it. With some speed, Squirtle tackles Skarmory to the ground. Charmander throws the twig, but it bounces off of Skarmory's body. Skarmory takes flight again. Pikachu tells Pichu to take the thing that's out of the bag and drop it. When Pichu takes the item out of the bag, Pikachu kicks it into Squirtle's mouth. Just before Skarmory can knock out Squirtle, Squirtle runs to the side with blazing speed. Skarmory is surprised by this. Pikachu tells its brother that Squirtle swallowed a Quick Seed which makes you move very fast. Squirtle runs around Skarmory in circles. Then Squirtle throws his twig at Skarmory. The twig directly hits Skarmory. Charmander and Chikorita both use their attacks on Skarmory too. Squirtle uses its attack too. Surprisingly, instead of Bubble, Water Gun comes out. The three attacks collide into Skarmory knocking it out.

Chikorita and Charmander are both happy that Squirtle finally learned Water Gun. Then they untie Pichu and Pikachu. Skarmory gets up from the ground. It states that it cannot remember a thing. Squirtle thinks that Skarmory got bumped on the head. With their first mission a success, the team says a small cheer. Pelipper flies across the sky back to the Pokemon Square. Everyone runs back to the Pokemon Square. Pichu and Pikachu are returned safe, and Team Go-Getters heads back to their team base.
