It is raining and Ash sees a Charmander sitting on a rock. Brock says that they better take it to the Pokémon center, otherwise its flame will go out. Pikachu tries to get Charmander to go with them, but Charmander says that he is waiting on someone. So they go to the Pokémon center and they hear a guy named Damian. Damian brags about how he abandoned his Charmander. Brock knows that the abandoned Charmander was the Charmander sitting on the rock. They go get the Charmander and they sleep at the Pokémon center. The next day, Charmander is found missing. Team Rocket then comes and captures Pikachu in a pink bubble. Then Charmander comes and uses a Flamethrower attack which defeats Team Rocket. Charmander decides to stay with Ash and Ash gets himself a new friend and Pokémon.
