Our friends head down to Cerulean City. Ash doesn't know that Misty is the gym leader though. Ash goes into the gym and looks for the gym leader. Misty then pops out and challenges Ash to a battle. The battle gets interrupted by Team Rocket. With their stolen vacuum, they start to suck up all the water and Pokémon from the pool. Pikachu does a Thundershock which zaps the vacuum and frees all the Pokémon. Ash then gets his Cascade Badge.
