Events: Ash's Metapod evolves into Butterfree

Ash finds a Weedle and wants to capture it. Meanwhile, Misty walks around the forest and meets up with a samurai. He says that he is looking for a kid from Pallet Town. Misty thinks that he is weird and soon discovers that he wants Ash. The samurai meets up with Ash and challenges him to a Pokémon battle. The samurai chooses a Pinsir and Ash chooses Pidgeotto. After a while Pidgeotto faints. Ash chooses Metapod next and crushes Pinsir’s claws with a Harden. The samurai calls Pinsir back and sends out his own Metapod. Both Metapod have a battle of Harden attacks which seems to last on forever. Soon, a swarm of Beedrill appears and chases the group. The samurai calls back his Metapod and runs. One of the Beedrill gets Ash’s Metapod and buzzes away. Ash is sad that he lost his Metapod. They head into the samurai’s cabin where they fall asleep.
The next day, Ash searches for his Metapod and finds him. He also meets up with Team Rocket again. Team Rocket say their motto but Ash pleads them to not wake up the Beedrill. Unfortunately, the Beedrill wake up and chases Ash. Ash makes a smart move to make the Beedrill chase team Rocket. Ash talks to Metapod and says that he is sorry for what he has done. Metapod forgives him and protects Ash from a wild Beedrill. Misty and the samurai soon meet up with Ash. Ash sees his Metapod evolve into a Butterfree. The swarm of Beedrill comes again, but Ash orders Butterfree to use a Sleep Powder which put the Beedrill to sleep. Ash loves his new Pokémon. The samurai says to them that they are not far from Pewter City. Ash waves goodbye and they head off to Pewter City.
