Pokémon Nightmare - For your Pokémon Anime needs!

When an episode gets dubbed and played, there are some episodes that don't. Sometimes an episode gets censored so that children can't view certain things. In Japan, children are allowed to watch more violent shows so the Japanese writers might put in things that aren't suitable for children in other countries. When this happens a certain part of an episode might get cut out or the whole episode might get banned. Below are pictures of the banned episode along with an explanation for the ban. Episode Number: 18 English Title: Beauty and the Beach Japanese Title: アオプルコのきゅうじつ Romaji Title: Holiday at Aopulco
Explanation: This episode was banned because of James's bikini and the thought of him winning a beauty contest. KidsWB did show a cut version of this episode once but a lot of parts were cut out and so this episode didn't air again.

Episode Number: 19 English Title: Tentacool and Tentacruel Japanese Title: メノクラゲドククラゲ Romaji Title: Menokurage Dokukurage
Explanation: Because of the September 11 attacks, this episode has been banned. Nastina also uses a variety of guns which could also lead to why this episode was banned. You can still find this episode on VHS in stores.

Episode Number: 23 English Title: The Tower of Terror Japanese Title: ポケモンタワーでゲットだぜ！ Romaji Title: Capture at Pokémon Tower!
Explanation: This episode was unaired for a short period of time because of the September 11 attacks. It was thought to contain a scary name. However, this episode did air again after awhile.

Explanation: This episode was banned because of the use of guns. Not only were the guns pointed at people but they were also fired. Because of this the US decided not to air this episode even though it has been dubbed.

Episode Number: 38 English Title: -- Japanese Title: でんのうせんしポリゴン Romaji Title: Electric Soldier Porygon Article
Explanation: This is the most famous of all the banned episodes. This episode was banned because more than 700 Japanese children got seizures from the bright flashing lights in certain parts of the episode. Because of this, Pokemon was unable to air for 4 months. This episode was only shown once in Japan and is forbidden to ever air again.

Explanation: Due to a person who thought that Jynx was a "racial stereotype" this episode was banned. I don't know why the episode Holiday Hi-Jynx wasn't banned because Jynx is in that episode too.

Episode Number: 348 English Title: The Bicker the Better Japanese Title: タッグバトル！サトシVSハルカ!? Romaji Title: Tag Battle! Satoshi VS Haruka!?
Explanation: This episode has only been banned in some countries including France and Italy. The reason for this is some of the mature themes in the episode that may have been inappropriate for younger children. One of these themes is romance. Apparently, it has to do with "The Battle of the Sexes."

Explanation: This is the most recent episode that was unaired. It was going to air but due to earthquakes, this episode was skipped. The episode didn't even air in the US.

Explanation: This episode aired in Japan, however it didn't air in any other countries. Because this episode was only a clip episode, it didn't serve much of a purpose to the anime, therefore it was skipped.
